A R T & E X H I B I T I O N S
At the Adriatico Guesthouse, lower level - Photography exhibit entitled
"Nocturnes" by Gerardo Fornataro. Inaugurated on Tuesday, on display
until 30 September.
Photograhy Festival - Triestèfotografia
The Festival is taking place in several locations around Trieste with
photography exhibitions by some of the most famous contemporary
photographers in the world. Leaflets available at the Info Point.
Last day today Exhibition "Una Casa Comune Europea" at the Trieste
Chamber of Commerce (Camera di Commercio, Piazza della Borsa 14), an
interesting and unusual art show with the paintings of 16 Triestine and
16 Slovenian artists built into an installation shaped like a 4 metre
tall house. Open until 8 September, Mondays through Fridays 8 - 18,
free entrance.
Exhibition to celebrate 100 years since the opening of the historic
Transalpina railway line is open until 31 December in the railway
museum (Museo Ferroviario - via Giulio Cesare, 1). Open Wednesday,
Saturday and Sunday from 9-13.
At Museo Revoltella in via Diaz, 27, there is an ongoing exhibition
entitled "Lessico familiare", dedicated to the life and times of the
local writer and journalist, Silvio Benco (1874-1949). Open until 24
September.
Two important exhibitions at Villa Manin di Passariano. One "Infinite
Painting" is ongoing until 24 September from Tues-Sun 10-18, the other
is called "Sculture nel Parco". More information on the website (also

Exhibition called "Un Luogo in un Momento - Trieste in Frammenti
Visivi" (A Place in a Moment - Trieste in Visual Fragments). a group
exhibition by Gianni Spizo in collaboration with the "Scuola del Vedere
- Academy of Fine Arts Trieste" in Piazza Piccola 2. From 2 - 25
September, 10-13 and 17-20.
Exhibition "Real - Unreal", work by Giovanna Ludovico is on display in
Piazza Piccola 3, from 10-13 until 18 September.
C H I L D R E N'S A C T I V I T I E S
L'Immaginario Scientifico
This science museum (located on the ground floor level of the Adriatico
Hotel, entrance at the rear of the hotel, opposite the 36 bus stop) has
exhibits which are particularly suitable for children.
A children's laboratory will be held on Sunday from 15.30-16.30 for
those aged 4-7 (experiment entitled: bubble-funnel-shaped) and from
15:30-16:30 for 8-11 year olds (make a spiral of a bubble). You can

Revoltella Museum
Every Saturday at the Revoltella Museum in via Diaz in Trieste, there
is a children's laboratory organized from 16:00-18:00. See the web

F A I R S & M A R K E T S
"Under the same sky" multiethnic market
From Friday 1 September until Sunday 10 September. The aim of this
event that proposesmusic, shows, kiosks of exotic food, is to promote
the multiethnic reality giving the possibility to enter in contact with
different cultures and their traditions.
M U S I C & D A N C I N G
Concert at Miramare Castle
Today, Friday 8 September, music for strings from Tartini's
Conservatoire. Music by Bach, de Hita, Conforti, Gabrieli. The concert
starts at 20:30 in the Sala del Trono (throne room). Places are
limited, so you are advised to get there early.
Guitar concert
This evening at 21 in Ponterosso there will be a guitar concert by
Nossa Alma band and tommorrow 9 September Bachir Charaf and I
Tavernicoli will perfom with ethnic Berber tunes.
S P O R T S H O W
Saturday 9 September from 17 and Sunday 10 September from 9:30 in
Piazza Unità there will be a big event: the International Police Forces
Motocycle Show with the police band and an old fashion cars rally.
N A T U R E
Carsiana Botanical Garden
The Carsiana botanical garden, which offers visitors a beautiful
selection of the typical local fauna, to be found among the vegetation
in Carso (karst) is organizing two guided tours this Sunday 27 August
at 16 and 17 entitled "Il sentiero delle piante velenose", dedicated to
the various poisonous plants found locally.

T O U R S
Trieste by Bus
Every Saturday a bus leaves for a tour of Trieste from in front of the
train station at 14.00. It takes in all of the main sights to see
downtown, and there is also a 30-minute stop at St. Giusto Castle,
where you can walk along the Castle walls or visit the Cathedral or
simply enjoy the spectacular views. Tickets may be bought in the Sala
Eurostar in the main railway station and cost 5.20 Euro, with children
under 10 travelling free.
