THE INTERRELIGIOUS CHOIR OF TRIESTE was formed in 2000 through the
initiative of Maestro Fabio Nossal for the purpose of bringing to a
wider audience the vast and varied repertory of sacred music. The choir
consists of thirty members belonging to a variety of religious
denominations.

It is a fascinating musical experience that progresses from ancient
monodic melodies through sublime polyphonic compositions to the
grandeur of choral music, thanks to the offerings of all the choir
members who have contributed the most significant hymns of their
repertories.

The choir has performed many concerts and held concert workshops for
students in schools and participated in numerous ecumenical and
interreligious concerts, attesting through music to the peace and
harmony of different cultures living side by side.

FABIO NOSSAL graduated from the Conservatory "G. Tartini" in Trieste in
Organ and Organ Composition and studied conducting at the Accademia
Chigiana in Siena. He studied under such distinguished conductors as
Claudio Scimone and Riccardo Muti. He has performed as conductor,
choirmaster and organist in both Italy and abroad. He founded the
choir "I Madrigalisti di Trieste," and the "INCE (Middle-European
Enterprise) International Orchestra," with which he has frequently
performed in the presence of many Heads of Government and Foreign
Ministers. He has received many invitations to conduct the State
Symphony Orchestra of the Radio and Television Broadcasting Corporation
of Moldava, the Permanent Orchestra of the Theatre of Argentina in La
Plata and the Symphony Orchestra of the Festival of Sofia, Bulgaria. He
has served as Artistic Director of various festivals, including the
"Alpe Adria Soloist Music Festival" and the "Trieste-Europe Festival".
He has given numerous Lecture Series of didactic concerts for public
school students and held conferences on the evolution of musical
instruments. In addition to his teaching activities he serves as
Honorary Inspector of the Ministry of Culture for the safeguard and
preservation of organ arts.
