Free-time activities
A R T  &  E X H I B I T I O N S
At the "Acquamarina" swimming pool (molo F. Bandiera, 1) there is an 
exhibition of photographs entitled "Sale e saline: ieri e oggi" about 
the history of the salt and the nearby salt marshes of the Adriatic 
which have played an important part in the local economy and culture.  
Free entrance.
Exhibition of works in oils and pastels by the artist Franco Dugo in 
the Galleria Rettori Tribbio (piazza Vecchia 6).  The exhibition will 
be open until 7 April Tue-Sat 10-12:30 and 17-19:30, Sun 11-12:30, 
closed Monday.
Photographic Exhibition in the Museo Sveviano (piazza Hortis 4) 
entitled "Se hai tempo fatti fotografare" (If you have time have your 
photo taken).  A photographic biography of Italo Svevo.  Open until 11 
September 2006 Mon-Sat 10-13 and Sunday 10-12.  Free entrance.
Exhibition in the ballroom of the Revoltella Museum (via Diaz, 27) 
entitled "Preview - Andy Warhol's Timeboxes".  Open until 18 July 2006 
as an introduction to the main exhibition which will open on 21 July in 
the renovated fish market (ex-pescheria) in Trieste.  E-mail

display here are part of the "Campbell's soup" group, dedicated to 
industry in Pittsburgh, Warhol's home town, which was a recurring 
source of inspiration in his work.
Exhibition in Gorizia in the beautiful Palazzo Attems-Petzenstein 
(piazza Edomondo de Amicis 2) until 2 June, entitled "Caleidoscopio 
Missoni", which documents the history of the Missoni family, 
world-famous for their textiles.

C H I L D R E N's  A C T I V I T I E S
L'Immaginario Scientifico
This science museum (located on the ground floor level of the Adriatico 
Hotel, entrance at the rear of the hotel, opposite the 36 bus stop) has 
exhibits which are particularly suitable for children.
A children's laboratory will be held on Sunday from 15.45-16.45 for 
those aged 4-7 and from 15:30-17:00 for 8-11 year olds.  The activities 
this weekend are entitled "bicarbottiglia" and "muro di sapone".  You

C I N E M A
If you want to see a film in English, the cinema Cinecity at the Torri 
d'Europa shopping centre (bus number 8 from the station) offers one or 
two films per week which you can hear in the original language by means 
of a pair of headphones provided by the cinema upon request.

F A I R S  &  M A R K E T S
"Pollice Verde" Fair
At the Fiera di Gorizia from 31 March until 3 April there will be the 
gardening and free-time fair.  Entrance is free and it will be open 
from 10-20 each day.  On Saturday there will be demonstrations of tree 
climbing, pot-holing as well as various creative stands and plants for 
sale.  On Sunday, there will also be mountain bike demonstrations, and 
explanations of bonsai techniques.

Duino Castle
Duino Castle, just along the coast road, towards Monfalcone, easily 
reachable by the 51 bus (the one which goes to the airport) has 
commenced its summer opening timetable.  As well as visiting the 
picturesque castle, admiring the breathtaking views and the glorious 
gardens, it is now possible to visit a newly-opened bunker used during 
the second-world war.  This Sunday 2 April, there will be a cheese 
fair, with the chance to taste and buy an assortment of cheeses 
prepared by nine local producers.  More information regarding the

M U S I C  &  C O N C E R T S
Pink Floyd Tribute Concert
On Saturday 1 April at 21:00 at the Teatro Miela there will be a 
tribute concert to Pink Floyd organized by the Associazione 
Acquamarina.  The Caprin Choir will also be performing.  Entrance is 
free.

Concert of Classical Music
On Saturday 1 April in the Auditorium of the Museo Revoltella (via 
Diaz), there will be a free concert by the Austrian pianist Sigrid 
Trummer who will play a selection of works by Mozart, to mark not only 
the 250th anniversary of his birth, but also to celebrate the twinning 
of Trieste with the Austrian town of Graz.  Following the concert there 
will be the inauguration of a photographic exhibition entitled 
"Jugendstil a Graz e Trieste".

S P O R T
Vivicitta'
On Sunday 2 April at 10:30 in Piazza Unita "Vivicitta'" running event 
will start.  So far, in the 22 editions of this event, 1,500,000 
participants have taken part in more than 60 Italian cities, and over 
70 cities worldwide.  The theme of this edition is multiethnic 
cohabitation, with sport aiming to cross all borders and unite all 
cultures.  There will be two routes: 12 km for more experienced runners 
and a 4km fun-run.  More information on the site:

T O U R S
Trieste by Bus
Every Saturday a bus leaves for a tour of Trieste from in front of the 
train station at 14.00.  It takes in all of the main sights to see 
downtown, and there is also a 30-minute stop at St. Giusto Castle, 
where you can walk along the Castle walls or visit the Cathedral or 
simply enjoy the spectacular views.  Tickets may be bought in the Sala 
Eurostar in the main railway station and cost 5.20 Euro, with children 
under 10 travelling free.
