Message for Participants in Trip to Muggia

This is a message only for those who have signed up to participate in 
the trip to Muggia, tomorrow, Saturday 1 July.  Apologies for sending 
it to everyone, but some e-mail addresses given have resulted incorrect 
and this is the only way to notify all those involved of the 
arrangements for the trip.


Dear All,

Thank you for your request to participate in the trip to Muggia.

The trip will take place tomorrow Saturday 1 July 2006.  We should meet 
no later than 9.45 in town on the MOLO PESCHERIA.  The Molo (pier) is 
located on the waterfront, right next to the 'Stazione Marittima' and 
the Aquarium.  It is clearly indicated with a red circle on the 
attached map.

We shall take the boat 'Delfino Verde' to Muggia from the Molo 
Pescheria at 10.10am.  Tickets cost 5.65 Euro for a return.  If you 
prefer, you can purchase a single for 3 Euro, and return to Trieste by 
bus using your 'rete' ticket.  Unfortunately, we have been notified by 
the transport company which operates the boat that the rete ticket is 
no longer valid for the trip to Muggia, so we shall all have to pay for 
the ticket.  Please have the correct change ready to pay so that the 
boat can leave on time.

When we arrive in Muggia, Mr. Bradaschia will be waiting on the pier to 
meet the boat and will take the group to the main square to meet the 
Council official, Ms Tarlao, who will show us round the Town Hall and 
the Council chambers (where there will be chance to take some nice 
photographs and have a drink) . Then she will lead us on a walking tour 
of the main points of interest of the town.  The final point of the 
route will be the Castle (at around 12/12.15), where those who have 
opted for the guided tour will be shown around by the owner for about 
45 minutes and then she will serve refreshments.  For those who are not 
on the list for the Castle visit there are, in any case, beautiful 
views to admire and take photographs of.

Once the tour is over, you will be free either to continue your visit 
(the oldest, very picturesque, part of Muggia is located on a hill very 
close to the border with Slovenia, which can be reached by bus), or to 
return to Trieste.

Please remember to bring with you your passport (as the area is very 
close to the border with Slovenia, and in the past, it has happened 
that the police have requested to see peoples' documents) and your ICTP 
badge.
