We have just been informed of a new touristic initiative organized by
the Triestine Chamber of Commerce, which you may like to take advantage
of.

Each Saturday at 9:30 a coach departs from the square in front of the
Stazione Marittima (to the left of Piazza Unita', looking towards the
sea, on the waterfront in Trieste). Its first stop is the Botanical
Garden "La Carsiana", where you can take a look around the 6000 sq.m of
parkland, full of karst floral species. Afterwards, the bus heads
towards Duino, a picturesque village along the coast towards the
airport, where you can visit the Castle of the Torre e Tasso family
(www.castellodiduino.it) and take a walk along the cliff path with
spectacular views, which is named after the poet Rainer Maria Rilke who
wrote his "Elegie duinesi" there.

The return to the Stazione Marittima is scheduled for 13:30. The bus
is free of charge, and places are assigned on a first-come-first-served
basis. You will have to pay for the entrance tickets to the Botanical
Garden and the Castle. The service will run until 9 September.
