REMINDER
NOTICE TO ALL SCIENTISTS AND STAFF
2006 CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR FESTIVITIES

Please note that, on the occasion of the forthcoming Festivities, the
Centre will be closed from Saturday 23 December 2006 to Sunday 07
January 2007 inclusive.  ICTP Staff will not be on duty.

In order to carry out periodical and extraordinary maintenance works
during this period, the following will apply:

ICTP's Main Building and E. Fermi Building will be closed for the whole
period. No heating will be provided.
Disinfestation will be effected on 23 December at the Main Building and
Enrico Fermi Building so access will be totally forbidden on that day.
The electricity supply and the data network may be interrupted on the
same day from 08.00 a.m. until noon.

The corridor between SISSA and the Main Building will be closed.

The Adriatico Guest House will stay open during the whole festivities
period; some areas and facilities will be made available for those
Scientists who wish to continue their work.

The Galileo Guesthouse and the Microprocessor Laboratory will be closed.

To facilitate the closure of the buildings, all Scientists and Staff
are kindly requested to leave the premises no later than 18.00 on
Friday, 22 December 2006 and to make sure that the electrical equipment
in their offices is switched off. Scientists and Staff members  are
also kindly requested to free as much as possible their desks and
windowsills due to major cleaning works during the closure period.

The Library, Bars and Cafeterias at the Main Building and Adriatico
Guesthouse and the Unicredit Bank will be closed from 23 December 2006
to 7 January 2007.

The Travel Agency will be  closed from 23 December 2006 to 7 January
2007;
Arrangements with Linea Gialla Travel Agency can be handled at their
downtown office  (Via Coroneo, 17 - Tel. 040-635333) only until 29
December 2006.
New travel arrangements with Carlson Wagonlit Co. can be made as from 8
January 2007.

The Lloyd Adriatico Insurance Company will be closed from 23 December
2006 to  7 January 2007.
If necessary, you can go to their downtown office in via Locchi 19/A
tel. 040 312400 during this  period excluding 25 and 26 December 2006
and 1st January 2007.

The Medical Services  will be closed from 23 December 2006 to 7 January
2007. For urgent cases, the Adriatico Guest House Reception may be
contacted (tel. 040-2240112).

The Postal Services will be shut from 23 December 2006 to 7 January
2007.
For shipments, the Mail Offices in Grignano (near the church) and in
Barcola may be used.
No internal office distribution will be made.

  All services will be resumed on Monday 8 January 2007.
